Rimmed in gilded branches that curl and taper like flames, each finished with a delicate knotted bow at the base, this pair of mirrors carries a quiet, old world artistry rarely seen today. Their painted scenes are rendered directly onto the back of the mirrored glass itself, a technique known as verre églomisé, in which imagery is hand painted before the glass is silvered, leaving the surrounding surface to reflect light and space while the painted scene remains soft and matte.

One mirror depicts a long tailed pheasant perched above a quiet garden pool, the other a pair of crowned cranes standing together beneath a slender tree, each scene rendered in muted greens and golds that evoke a Chinoiserie garden caught in a single quiet moment. Small flecks of gold scattered throughout the sky give both scenes a subtle, shimmering depth.
