This collection gathers nine pieces around that singular palette: a powder blue ground traced with gilded cranes in flight, their silhouettes rendered against reeds and water in the manner of Japonisme, the late 19th-century European fascination with Japanese composition and asymmetry that reshaped decorative arts across France and Austria. Covered jars, vases, a scalloped bowl, a cendrier, a tissue box and a pierced tray each carry the same gilded flight across their surfaces, framed by ormolu mounts, ring handles, scrolled feet and pierced collars cast in the European gilded bronze tradition.
