Born in 18th-century England as an interpretation of Chinese landscape painting, the Blue Willow pattern captured the European imagination with its vision of an idealized Eastern world: willow trees bending over still water, a pagoda reflected in a lake, birds in flight above an arched bridge, figures moving through a landscape that exists nowhere except in the decorative arts tradition that created it.

This collection brings together six objects united by that pattern and elevated by ormolu.
