A deep cobalt blue body rises into a flared porcelain neck, banded with a hand painted Chinoiserie scene of birds among blossoming branches, rendered in soft sepia tones that read almost like ink on silk. The vase tapers gracefully to a point, held aloft by a hand finished gilt bronze tripod stand, its slender, upright legs and turned central finial reflecting the clean, architectural lines of French Empire design.

Set upon a porcelain base finished in ivory and gold, the vase feels both formal and sculptural, a piece equally suited to a mantel, a formal entry console, or as a solitary statement on a pedestal.
