A cockatoo, wings folded and crest raised, perches at the rim of each vase in this collection, surveying a small world of pattern and color below. But look closer, and something unexpected happens. Instead of the pastoral scenes typically found in Chinoiserie porcelain, these vases carry the bold, graphic language of contemporary pop art.

The Poppy Cockatoo Vase is wrapped in a crackled green backdrop of bright red poppies, centered around the Chinese characters 激情, meaning passion, rendered in gold like a piece of street art painted onto porcelain. The Flower of Life Cockatoo Vase trades pattern for pure geometry, a sacred geometry symbol rippling outward in concentric circles against a graphic black and white ground. The Red Cockatoo Vase returns to that same message in a different mood, 激情 glowing in gold against a deep red ground patterned with traditional motifs, as if passion itself were being celebrated in two entirely different keys.

Together, these three vases feel less like traditional Chinoiserie and more like a playful conversation between old symbolism and modern design, proof that decorative arts can still surprise. The cockatoo watches over it all with quiet amusement, as if in on the joke.
