A pagoda rises beside a river, boats drift below distant hills, and a fenced terrace runs along the water. The scene sits inside a shaped panel on each piece, surrounded by a dense ground of small blue florals and bordered with a honeycomb band, painted in indigo and white with warm gold highlights.

The pattern belongs to the Chinese export porcelain tradition, the landscapes made for European tables in the 18th and 19th centuries, which later inspired English blue willow ware. Here it is paired with European gilt bronze mounts: butterflies and dragonflies resting on tray handles, a ribbon bow crowning a round dish, an elephant finial on a ginger jar, and ram’s head handles on a footed bowl.

Each piece of this collection carries the same landscape in a different silhouette, so the pieces work alone or together on a console, a dining table, or a mantel.

Newly crafted in the European decorative arts tradition.
